This is the fix to the original sound, this was edited in audacity. Since the original is gone, this will now be the new original.

This is a piece, which is a continuous sound, realized a couple of decades ago, with an arp 2600 analog synthesizer. The idea was to create a kind of "tornado" sound.

I happened to be testing the voice recording capabilities of my sansa clip zip mp3 player, at the time. I'll think you'll agree this is exceptional quality for such a tiny microphone and only minimal background noise removal.

A recording of wind whipping by. (warning: loud!) it was made by putting the microphone close to a car window as it was driving. It sounds rather like a strong wind storm or hurricane. :-) taken with a black sony ic digital voice recorder.

Rehearsal of sirens i recorded from my window in prague. After that i separated the harmonics for clean sound. The recording is 96khz, stereo. Recorded using zoom h2n on x/y mode.

I needed this for a film i made but i couldnt find it on this site so i made it using audacity. This is supposed to sound like a police man yelling through a megaphone.

Chirp sound, 250hz - 800hz square waveform. Linear interpolation. Wet reverbed and compressed to 3:1 ratio. Equalized with riaa wave curve (top-left to bottom-right). Each chirp lasts 3. 750s. Repeats 4 times layered over itself, including the last chirp without any layered sounds on it.
